Every dog tells a story through the way they move. A hesitation before jumping, a subtle shift of weight, the way one paw lands just a little differently, these are the quiet clues that reveal how a dog feels in their body.
For years, I’ve watched dogs with a trainer’s eye, focusing on behaviour and learning. But over time, through my work with ACE (Animal Centred Education) and professionals like ACPAT physio Nikki Grant, I’ve come to see that posture, gait, and muscle balance are just as much a part of communication as any bark or tail wag.
Working with Nikki on my own dog, Lupin, reminded me of the depth that emerges when we look beyond the surface.
