Mentoring for Dog Trainers & Behaviourists

About the Witch’s Way Mentoring Pathway
The Witch’s Way is a small-cohort mentoring pathway for trainers and behaviourists who want more than coursework. It offers a calm, structured space to apply theory to real cases, develop ethical reasoning, and grow into confident, independent practice.
You will learn to interpret behaviour accurately, communicate clearly with clients, and make decisions that protect welfare. Every session focuses on real-world challenges, reflective discussion, and professional growth, giving you the depth that most qualifications cannot offer on their own.
ABTC standards inform the programme, yet are entirely independent of formal assessment. It does not replace an approved qualification; instead, it supports you before, alongside, or after one, guiding you through the parts of practice where many professionals feel most alone.
Places are intentionally limited so each mentee receives meaningful support. If you want structured supervision, ethical clarity, and guidance grounded in science and lived experience, this is your opportunity to join a mentoring pathway designed for genuine professional development.

Why This Programme Is Different
Most professional routes focus on coursework and assessment. Very few offer the space to explore how learning, emotion, pain, posture, and welfare come together in real cases. This programme was created to fill that gap.
It is different because it provides:
-
Applied guidance rather than abstract teaching
You learn by bringing real cases, real questions, and real uncertainties. Together, we explore how to interpret behaviour with accuracy and compassion. -
A reflective, emotionally literate environment
The mentoring space is calm, inclusive, and psychologically safe. There is no judgement and no pressure to perform. The focus is on thoughtful growth. -
Depth that formal courses often cannot offer
Topics such as psychopharmacology, movement analysis, chronic pain, welfare compromise, and clinical reasoning rarely fit into standard syllabi. Here, they are central. -
Support before, during, and after qualification routes
This programme complements formal study. It does not assess or endorse. Instead, it provides the supervision, discussion, and ethical grounding that help practitioners feel secure in their work. -
Small-cohort mentoring designed for real development
Limited places ensure every mentee receives meaningful individual attention. You are not one of many; you are part of a small circle committed to growth. -
Guidance from practitioners who understand the emotional weight of this work
You are supported by mentors who value welfare, we llbeing, and the lived realities of behaviour practice.
This is not a traditional training course.
It is a professional companion, a space where knowledge becomes confidence, and confidence becomes calm, ethical practice.
