Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking or engaging in services. By booking, making payment, or participating in services, you confirm your agreement to the terms set out below.

1. Training and behaviour methods

Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour works within ethical, evidence-based practice and uses reward-based, welfare-centred approaches. The use of harsh handling, physical force, punitive techniques, or aversive equipment is not supported or permitted during sessions. This includes, but is not limited to, choke chains, prong collars, spray collars, electronic collars, or any equipment deemed inappropriate by the practitioner.

2. Consumer contract regulations (14-day cooling-off period)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your booking within 14 calendar days of receiving booking confirmation and receive a full refund. If your booking is due to commence within the 14-day cooling-off period, you will be asked to give express permission for services to begin early. If you later cancel within the cooling-off period, you will be liable for payment proportional to the services already provided. Once a service has commenced in full, the right to cancel no longer applies.

4. Safety and equipment

Any accidents or injuries must be reported at the time they occur. Dogs remain the responsibility of the handler at all times, whether sessions take place in person or online.

3. Payments, cancellations, and refunds

General payment terms

Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment plans represent a financial arrangement only and do not alter the overall cost or scope of services.

One-to-one services

This includes initial consultations, supplementary sessions, and package-based work. One-to-one sessions may be rescheduled or refunded with a minimum of 7 days’ notice. With less than 7 days’ notice, no refund will be given except for any travel costs not incurred. In exceptional circumstances, partial refunds or rescheduling may be considered at the sole discretion of Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour. Packages must be used within the stated timeframe unless otherwise agreed. Unused sessions outside this timeframe may be forfeited.

Online group mentoring and professional services

Bookings for online group mentoring or professional development services are non-refundable once the statutory cancellation period has passed. Missed sessions cannot be refunded. Where appropriate, supporting materials or session recordings may be provided. If Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour needs to cancel or reschedule a session due to unforeseen circumstances, reasonable efforts will be made to offer an alternative. Where this is not possible, a proportional refund may be issued.

5. Children and young people

Children may attend sessions where appropriate and must be supervised at all times. Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour accepts no responsibility for the supervision of children.

6. Health and welfare

Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog’s health and welfare, including appropriate veterinary care, parasite control, and disease prevention, in line with veterinary guidance. Where a dog is unable to attend an in-person session, owners may attend without the dog where appropriate.

7. Photography, marketing, and privacy

Photographs or video may occasionally be taken during sessions for educational or marketing purposes. If you do not consent to images of you or your dog being used, please notify us in advance. Written feedback may be used for marketing purposes using first names only, unless otherwise agreed. Client photography or recording is not permitted without prior consent.Personal data is handled in line with the Privacy Policy.

Some online sessions, webinars, or group mentoring events may be recorded for educational or professional use.
By booking and attending an online session where recording is stated in advance, you acknowledge and consent to:
  • The session being recorded
  • Your name, voice, and on-screen presence being included where visible
  • The recording being shared with other participants or used within associated learning platforms or professional resources
Where possible, attendees will be given the option to attend with camera off or name hidden. If you do not consent to recording or sharing, you must notify Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made.

8. Engagement and commitment

Behaviour and training work requires commitment, consistency, and realistic expectations. By booking services, you agree to engage openly, provide accurate information, follow agreed strategies, and communicate if difficulties arise. Behaviour change is not a guaranteed or immediate process.

Working with dogs carries inherent risks. By participating in services, you accept responsibility for yourself, your dog, and any accompanying persons. Believe in Magic Dog Training & Behaviour cannot be held liable for injury or damage resulting from participation in sessions or from the implementation of advice provided. You agree to take reasonable steps to manage risk, including the use of safety equipment such as muzzles where appropriate, and to avoid situations likely to trigger unsafe behaviour.

10. Professional judgement

All advice and recommendations are based on professional judgement at the time of consultation. Behaviour and training plans may need to change as new information emerges. Nothing within services replaces veterinary diagnosis or medical advice.
